A bit surprising reponse. I have no beef with you. You say I should learn from people of color, but ironically my response to you was in part based on reading Trevor Noahs book about growing up in South Africa.
When you say that Africa is homogenous, I cannot see why you find it offensive that I disagree with you on that. I don't think mutual respect means we have to agree with each other. With a good friend you can have strong disagreement without it turning into hostility.
I think making an disagreement about diversity in Africa into a white privilege thing is quite a leap. I simply disagreed with your notion that a large content like Africa is homogenous. I think we both know it has enormous diversity in language, culture, people and customs.
I never meant to criticize your article. I very much liked your article and found your perspective interesting.
I was only adding an appropos kind of comment, it was never meant as a criticism. But it seems you read it like that. Perhaps not strange, as we live in a highly contentious social media world where everybody is at each others throat.
Anyway, ignore me and good luck with your further writing.
