Absolutely right MXM. This article is very narrowly focused on how rich each country is on average without looking anything at how that wealth is distributed and used.
Being from Norway and having lived in the US, I will say that I do think Norwegians are on average better off. But the material wealth in the US is undeniable, it is just very uneven and it is arranged in such a manner that even people living it big are kind of balancing on the edge of bancruptcy.

It is a bit of a caricature of each society, but I believe caricatures are sometimes useful to bring clarity to a difficult question. As long as people understand that these are exaggurations and that there is a wide variety of lifestyles in each region.
