As a Norwegian who has visisted San Fransisco I got to say the idea of SF has some kind of progressive heaven is a complete joke. How can you call yourself progressive with the poverty and decay all over the place in one of the richest areas of America? Homeless people living in cardboard boxes. Yeah... sure real progressive.

What this really is is corporate neo-liberals. The ones who are willing to say all the nice platitudes but not willing to do anything that costs money such as providing health care for all, poverty relief, shelter etc.

Public infrastruture has utterly crumbled there. The subway in SF must be the shittiest and most dirty subway I have ever visisted in my life.

I met a number of nice people there and saw many nice neigbhorhoods but the idea that SF is some sort of pinacle of progressivness is a joke. It is a hardcore free-wheeling rugged indivdualist capitalist to its core.
