At the moment it is more important to transition the world to electric cars then to find a way for “electric cars to pay their fair share“. At some point this will have to be done. But we are not there yet. There are simply too few electric cars sold at the moment. When the majority of cars sold are electric I think it’s time for electric cars to pay for maintenance of the roads. Before that we need a carrot, to encourage people to transition to electric cars.
