But I have never considered myself a feminist partly for that reason. But if people are labeling me a feminist, then I guess I have to actually articulate what I stand for because being feminist can mean so many things.

That is basically what this whole article is. One can read it and decide whether you think I am a feminist or not.

I would call myself either pro-equality or some kind of pragmatic or moderate feminist. I don't prescribe to any kind of feminist theoretical descriptions of gender.

After all I am more in the science camp, preferring to think a lot about gender and humanity in terms of us as animals and the effects of evolution.

Many are in that camp but I guess I differ in that I place a lot of emphasis on human culture and history. Unlike animals culture has a profound impact on us and how we live.

And I don't view nature as prescriptive. It may explain why something is hard to do but it doesn't to me suggest why it SHOULD be done.

Nature is full of contradictions. We are made biologically different by nature but nature also made us want to be more equal, or at least have the capacity to develop a desire for that.
