Chait, I am very much interested in hearing your points. Just because I argue against some points you make doesn't mean I will reject anything you argue.

I am simply looking at the arguments and respond in terms of the facts I know and using common reason and logic. If you can make a compelling logical argument with some good historical sources I am all ears.

If you rule out geography, climate and other material conditions as the main driver, then you are left with a racist world view which I reject. If it is not the environment then the only alternative explanation are genetic differences, and I simply refuse to believe that India was colonized by the British because the British somehow are genetically superior.

There is of course an equally backwards interpretation which is that the British became colonizers because they are somehow genetically inferior in the sense that they are somehow preprogrammed to be evil and exploitative.

Instead I think people are product of their environment and conditions. As environments change so will people.
