Crazy when joining the military is safer than doing a civilian job. I have looked at various programs about great engineering achievements in the US such as the Hoover dam and the Empire state building. It always becomes clear what a huge cost of human life those achievements were. A lot of American greatness is built upon the back of a lot of maimed, injured or killed underprivileged Americans.
