Electric cars are not actually subsidized in Norway. They are simply not taxed. But I guess it depends on perspective. You could subsidize electric cars or you could simply tax gasoline-based cars.

A major reason for EV adoption in Norway however is the fact that EVs initially could use the lanes reserved for public transport. That made electric cars attractive to commuters.
