Elon Musk has unrealistic short deadlines. But that does not mean he doesn’t deliver a lot in short time. He delivers less than HE promises. But still way more than the competition. His cars may not be fully self driving but neither is the competition and Tesla is by most regarded as ahead of the pack. What is there already works very well. I know several people who use the self driving feature a lot an love it.
Eating breakfast in the car while the autopilot handles Norwegians roads that twist and turn on the way to work is pretty impressive.
SpaceX “kind of successful”? You got to be joking. They have crushed all other competition. Established players who have done this for decades have been kicked to the curb by a startup. SpaceX is the biggest commercial rocket launcher in the world today.
That is the equivalent of Tesla having managed to be the worlds biggest car seller. Not just the size of Toyota but Toyota, GM an VW combined. And you call that “kind of successful.” Understatement of the century.
“Maybe” Starlink will work? We don’t know the commercial viability. But we know it technically works already. Plenty of people are already using Starlink and report that it works as advertised.
As for Huperloop. Elon Musk is not building that. Sure it is a recycling of many old ideas, but so was Tesla and SpaceX. They innovation is in how you combine those ideas into a final solution. It is all about execution.
