Exciting times we live in now! The hardware future is not all that clear. RISC-V will still require many years to really challenge ARM. They can probably catch the low end market.

As ARM wrestle it’s way into the high end market dominated by x86, RISC-V will probably be on its tail wrestling it’s way in on the low end market dominated by ARM. Maybe we will see some low end phones using RISC-V soon.

China is of course the big wildcard. They may see huge strategic advantage to of RISC-V dominance and pour a lot of resources into making high performance RISC-V chips.
