Good analysis, but there is no way Putin is stepping down. Putin is on the dictator tread-mill. Stepping down now is too dangerous for him. Putin will stay until the bitter end. The only way out is for him to be replaced by force.

Hard to see how this war will not end without violent chaos inside Russia itself as different groups clash to fill the power vacuum that Putin will leave behind.
