Hehehe maybe, but I cannot quite see the angle. The slide rule I guess is closest to an analog computer, while an Abacus is basically digital which is interesting when working your way towards the workings of a CPU.
Honestly I don't know slide rules well enough. There might be aspects of how they work which could be related to computing in general. Unfortunately I am not of a generation that ever got to use slide rules.
It might of course be interesting to do a separate series on analog computers. My understanding is that analog computing is in fact coming back. Not as whole computer systems but as dedicated hardware to accelerate particular kinds of calculations.
