I am sorry to hear you have experiences like this. It makes me angry. I am Norwegian and we certainly have those kinds of people here too, who insist people of foreign origin cannot be Norwegian.
But as our King says "I am also from an immigrant family." At some point all Norwegians must have come here, just like in Switzerland. People don't grow up from the ground itself.
Switzerland which is so multicultural, one should assume that having a non-typical background and identity would be more acceptable.
That you choose to embrace Switzerland and be Swiss should be something they should be proud of. Here in Norway our national day on 17th of May is a big celebration where we dress up in our traditional clothing from around the 1700-1800s.
It always warms my heart to see people of foreign origin who dress up in these outfits. I think it is cool when I see a muslim women make a Hijab that matches stylistically to these traditional Norwegian outfits.
It always pisses me off to no end when some grumpy old guys complain that non-native Norwegians cannot wear these outfits. Of course they can! And we should be honored.
Likewise I think the Swiss should be honored that you went through all this effort to be Swiss.
