I am sure Queen Elizabeth II could have done a million things different. But elevating somebody super villain for simply being a passive bystander while history flowed by is just utterly bizzare.

Why didn't you give money to that homeless person that held out his cup? Oh you don't have any good excuse? Well torture for you then.

I just think people are choose a very strange hill to die on. I discussed this topic with a few people online and I was surprised by how much energy they would put into rationalising the view that they were entitled to see Elizabeth die an excruciating painful death.

It is honestly quite pathetic and sad in my opinion. People directing so much anger and resentment against a symbol reminds me of people who start attacking inamitate object they walked into by accident and hurt themselves on.

Rather than attacking the person who put that inanimate object in a place that let you walk into it, they choose to direct their anger at the object they subbed their toe on. It is classic human irrationality and pettiness.
