I don't really follow royal gossip, but it is sometimes unavoidable. What I dislike about the whole conversation around British Royals is how the focus is only on their failures and very little on what an utter toxic stew the British media is in relation to the Royals.

I would say the Royals in my native Norway are a lot better adjusted people than what I see in Britain but a lot of that comes down to society around them. British Royals face an extreme pressure to live up to inhumane standards and the press is vicious.

My mother is a journalist in Norway and while my whole family loves Britain and have spent much time on vacation there, we are always just shocked by the behavior of the British press. It isn't just towards the Royals but towards anyone really. Not much respect for privacy. And they almost seem to take a saddistic pleasure in being nasty.

Interestingly the British press is extremely varied. I have subscribed to the Economist for many years which is excellent writing. Also love the Guardian. It seems in Britian the press is either excellent or a toxic stew.

A lot of the reason both brothers have had so much problems is due to what their mother DIana went through and the fact that she died. She would most likely not have died if not for the Papparazzi chasing her causing the drive to speed up. They ruined Harry's military service.

As people in the Royal family spiral downwards in large part due to what the media has caused they exploit this to write more toxic stories.

What is sad is that this mess causes the Royal family to be such a source of division for Britain. In Norway we are lucky in that the Royal family is a unifying force for the whole country.
