I don’t think people debate whether Rust is a systems programming language. It obviously is. But Go and Rust are kind of at opposite ends. Rust focuses on correctness and performance. Go is focused more on ease of use and productivity. I guess if Rust was Linux then Go would be macOS, although I am pretty sure the Go creators would absolutely hate that analogy, given how they got Unix flowing through their veins.
