I don't think what we are necessarily looking for is people who are hard working and Christian, but people who are culturally compatible and well educated.
In this regard Ukrainians fit quite well. A problem when accepting Syrians for instance is not that they are not willing to work but that too many of them lack education and skills usable in the West.
And of course there is a larger cultural mismatch to deal with.
However regardless of how good fit Ukranians are it is not easily to assimilate huge numbers of refugees in a short time. That applies at any point in time.
E.g. during WW2 when many Norwegians fled to Sweden, eventually many Swedes got kind of fed up with Norwegian refugees. Keep in mind Norwegians and Swedes are probably among the most culturally compatible people out there.
And Swedes are known as a pretty open minded and patient bunch of people. Yet even they got a bit fed up eventually.
I think it is also worth being reality oriented. If we hype up how great Ukranian refugees are, then people will invariably be dissappointed when the sunny stories don't quite match reality.
But of course I am optimistic in thinking that Europe will handle the Ukranian refugee stream better than most other. But Ukraine is a huge country. 44 million people. Already around 2 million have left.
That is already a lot more than the 1.4 million or so Syrians Europe took in.
