I have always been curious about how that works. Like how are you percieved in e.g. England when speaking with a thick Scottish accent.

Does it help getting accepted you think?

I feel here in Norway there is this odd effect, that when people have foreign origin but strong Norwegian dialects, they somehow just feel "more" Norwegian. Like you think much less of them as foreign.

Like if I hear somebody with a strong Bergen or Trønder dialect, it is hard to think of them as anything but a person from that area, no matter what they look like.
