I looked at Odin before and that didn't quite convince me. I have looked at Vlang briefly in the past but having looked at it again I must say I am more positive.

Vlang looks a lot like the kind of Go variant I want. It seems to fix most of my issues with Go, although it adds some complexity.

The issue however is momentum. I know from the past that unless you offer something truely new, you may not get traction. D was a better C++ years ago but never went anywhere.

It worries me a bit looking at V that they are trying to do too much for the initial release. It looks neat but extremely ambitious. Not sure I can see how a small group can pull of making all that happen.
