I never really spent a lot of time with Rust, but I spent enough time to decide it was too much effort.

Carbon to me looks like something somebody like me who is alread familiar with C++ and Swift and relatively easy jump into.

I don't know if I will, but it could happen if say Qt got accessible through Carbon. I don't really know of many quality GUI libraries for cross platform development other than Qt.
