I really strongly disagree with this take. I do not shared you view that politics is black and white or that politics is bad. Nor is having an ideology bad.
Politics is simply how we debate, negotiate and figure out how a nation should be governed. There is nothing bad about that. That is a good thing. Citizens should be involved in how their country is governed. In fact getting engaged in politics is a positive thing. You should participate in democracy and shaping the country you are part of.
Ideology is simply what you believe in. It is your values. To say ideology is bad is to say values are bad. There is no virtue in not having any values.
In a way you seem to advocate nihilism. What you talk about isn't politics or ideology but extremism and dogma.
It is perfectly possible to be in politics and get long well with political opponents and respect them. Do not think the US is some kind of typical example of how politics works. I would say the US is a rather terrible example. That isn't due to politics or ideology but a badly written constitution that has saddled the US with a two party system that has led to ever growing corruption in the political system.
