I should add that Russia did actually liberate Northern Norway and pull out. In fact in Northern Norway there are fairly positive memories of the Russians and for a long time there was quite good relations across the border. Many Northern Norwegians have Russian friends on the other side of the border and many marry Russians. There are also many educational exchange programs. Of course times are very different now.
