I think the idea that one should feel shame due to the skin color you are born with due to bad actions done by someone in the past with the same skin color as yourself is absolutely ridiculous. I am not ashamed of being white.

Yet I think it is reasonable for everyone including whites to learn about the history of slavery and in particular how it puts Blacks at a disadvantage today. It is important to understand the ripple effects otherwise it is all to easy to indulge in racist interpretations of the poverty and struggles many black minorities face.
