I think we can both agree on that. I hope nobody takes what I am writing here as the truth, but rather selected facts interspersed by opinions and subjective reflections on the state of our industry.

I try to make my case for why I believe what I believe. It is up to the reader to decide whether they think those reasons are sufficient or not.

I think what you write has to weighed by how impactful your voice is. I am simply not that important or impactful so I care less about how opinionated I am. If I got treated as some sort of industry guru, I would have weighed by words a lot more carefully.

Or on second thought.... maybe not. Linus Torvalds still gets away with being highly opinionated 😁

We are certainly on the opposite spectrum in our preferences for tools and languages. You say you don't understand my preferences, so I figured you cannot be alone. Or more specifically it is about the value of simplicity. That is the key metric I use to make a lot of choices.
