I think when you read the premise of the book and have followed this debate for a while you simply know it is a bunch of rubbish.

It is like I don't have to read a creationist book, or climate denier book to know it is quackery.

I think e.g. "Gang Leader for a Day" by Sudhir Venkatesh, would be a better book for middle class white Americans to read if they want to understand e.g. things like police brutality and development of gangs.

To understand racism, its origins and resurgence I think "Superior: The Return of Race Science" by Angela Saini is a much better book.

Neither of these books turn racism into a metaphysical reality. They talk about concrete hands on stuff in the real world. How the police operate in minority areas and how that affects behavior of minorities e.g.

While Angela Saini describes how racism was actually developed and continues to be developed. The major figures behind spreading it.

The problem with pushing books like "White Fragility" on people is that if this is their first book on racism I think there is a high chance you loose that person forever. They will simply shrug and decide it is all a non-issue.

I know how this works, because I have been there before.
