I think you missed my point. Why does a man need to pursue sex? Because he finds it pleasant. Why does a woman need to dress up? Because she finds it pleasant.

It is the same thing but you are trying to say society should prefer to be organized around a male desire to the detriment of female desire.

What you fail to take into account is that men are hardwired “misunderstand” women. Men will interpret almost anything as women wanting them because there is an evolutionary advantage to assuming she wants sex more than she wants to. In essence men are built faulty.

Albeit you could argue so are women as they enjoy dressing up even with no intention for sex.

Your bias is to treat men as objective rational and functioning correctly while women are faulty and needs to be corrected.

But evolution never evolved us to be in harmony. We must simply learn to live with these differences. We cannot sacrifice the happiness of one gender to boost that of another. There is no universal law that says men are more important. Although men have certainly spent most of history trying to force women into accepting that perspective.

Perhaps for a change we try to treat women as our equals and not put our needs always ahead of theirs. Just a thought.
