Indeed, but AMD is a company Intel has a fair chance of competing with as they are using the same instruction-set architecture. Should ARM come to dominate as a standard on the desktop and sever, then Intel will have a dilemma then don’t face with AMD: Attempt to make an x86 chip that beats ARM or make an ARM chip which beats all the ARM competition. Or alternatively as I’ve outlined, opt for an entirely different architecture such as RISC-V.
