It is also worth knowing that both Norway and Sweden has enacted laws to limit the influence of money in politics. TV ads for political parties have long been banned.

But we are also seeing corrupt practices developed in the US spreading here. It has become more common to see politicians leave politics for well paid jobs in private enterprise, often in lobbying positions for areas they used to work in as politicians. It makes me mad as hell to see this development.

In fact the current leader of Frp, is this kind of snake that worked for a PR agency doing professional lobbying for corporate interests. All while brandishing her credentials as a "good Christian." Usually I have respect for most politicians in Norway including those on other side of the aile but Sylvi Listhaug makes me sick. The has the manners of a a slick used car salesman. Always smiling and charismatic while saying the worst things.

This kind of corporate lobbying used to not be a feature of our democracy, and I am seriously worried about American conditions developing here in Norway. We are already seeing American practices taking over in many other areas, such as corporate culture.

There are lots of good things in America but there are also a number of bad things we really ought to not copy. We used to have a system of formally established advice councils as alternative to Anglo-sphere style lobbying. Now we are increasingly copying the Anglo-saxon style way of doing it. I really don't get how anyone can see the US political system as a source of inspiration.

I would rather see copying of American culture around innovation and new technology, not copying US politics.
