It is true what you say about Ford, I have corrected that.

Tesla is not snake oil financed. It would imply that they were selling snake oil. But they are delivering real cars and making real profits today. They managed to build up a car company from scratch which nobody else in the US has done in something like 100 years.

And Tesla isn't just some random car. Lots of people absolutely love their Tesla. As a new company pushing the technological evelope they sure have quality issues. But buyers are still seeing past that because they are getting a car which is so ahead of its time in so many areas.

As a friends said when I asked him about his Tesla compared to something like Mercedes Benz: Sure a Mercedes is more solid quality. But who wants to drive a Mercedes when you can drive a spaceship?

That is Tesla in a nutshell. It may be rough around the edges but is the only car company that really gives you a taste of the future.
