It is useful though as there seems to be a very one sided way in politically correct circles to view history. European colonization e.g. is only allowed to be viewed in negative terms while for some reason when it comes to Islam we are supposed to have this very balanced view.

I am talking about PC culture now as the far-right of course see thing differently. In their view Islam is always bad.

My issue is with the double standard. I’d we are to take a balance left view of Islamic conquest and colonization then surely we must afford the same to the West?

Yet today if you speak of any positive aspect of western colonization you would be deemed a racist, bigot or imperialist.

And while it is fair of Muslims to speak up against hatred, the Muslim works should perhaps also take self criticism in its characterization of Jews. Holding oneself to the same standard one hold others.
