It wasn't actually written for that purpose at all. It was just something that occured to me while working on Go, and reflecting on how the industry had changed profoundly since I was a Java consultant at Accenture back in 2001.

Had not expected the article to blow up at all. But it has later made me realize how people really like to read stuff they disagree with. Is hate reading a thing?

It made me realize why so much media today is so polarizing. Many people have long time ago made the same realization as me. But I am not going to write articles just to piss off people.

On the other hand I am not going to write articles just to please people either. Also I don't think people are okay with getting views challenged.
