Let me try to clarify my position because it still seems unclear to you.

I am totally fine with you having a different view from me. I have stated that repeatedly. I am fine with you criticizing my preferences.

I have no right to be shielded from criticims, neither do you. What I argue is that the exchange should be based on making the case for each tool or language on its own merits.

Instead your argument is frequently: "You are ignorant, that is why you don't like what I like"

I have never claimed you don't have a terminal and coding developer preference because you are ignorant and thus doesn't know what is best for your own good. It is this kind of arrogance from your part that I have an issue with. That you alone know best, and everybody else who thinks otherwise are just ignorant or uneducated.

Yes, I said IDEs are bloated. So what? You challenged me on that notion and I clarified why I held that opinion. Yet you persist in holding this notion that I must be ignorant for having a different view from you.

You come across as these Bible evangelists at my door, when I tell them I am an atheist. They keep quoting bible verse as if they just quote enough of them, I would somehow get converted. They fail to see the big picture as you do. I just don't agree with the general philosophy and practices of IDEs and Java. Doesn't matter how many neat little features you can list up, any more than quoting yet another Bible verse will convince me.
