Neither language you mentioned are good at scientific computing, data analysis and machine learnings. Yes, you can do this in Python but only after somebody has done all the heavy lifting in C++, which limits what you can do.

Machine learning is much easier in Julia. In general Python is developing a major usability problem. I have been teaching beginners Julia programming because they had to give up on Python. Python today is no longer beginner friendly. Dealing multiple versions, package managers, virtual environments etc becomes too much even for experienced developers.

Julia does all of this very well which makes it much more beginner friendly and you can grow with the language.
