Norwegian here, and this ressonates very much with my own experience. Some traditions have gone stronger but a lot have declined. E.g. more people wear out traditional clothing from the 1700-1800s called bunad during celebration of our national day on 17th of may. There are also probably more people doing skiing today than before.
There is certainly a lot of people complaining about Islamificatin. But few seem to notice just how strong Americanization is. A lot of Norwegian kids are increasingly talking a hybrid langauge due to youtube and computer games. Many Norwegian teenagers cannot even write properly Norwegian anymore. I notice a lot of kids don't know Norwegian words for many common things but use American-English words.
Norwegian business cultures had seen major decline. American HR culture has invaded. American style employee evaluation. American sales culture. All stores these days use American style names and slogans. Few write slogans in Norwegian.
A lot of our celebrations such as St. Hans, Julebukk and many other days have tied out while American celebrations such as mothers day, fathers day, valentines day, black friday and halloween have taken over. Now they are even pushing Thanksgiving, which makes no sense to me. Why would we celebrate something related to native Americans in Norway?!
Dialects are also in decline all over Norway. We have two official written languages in Norway. The one called Nynorsk used a lot by people outside the Oslo area, has seen steep decline.
People also don't eat as much traditional Norwegian food. Although I am not sure that is all negative. Traditional food was naturally limited by what food would grow here and is often a bit heavy in my view. I am glad we are seeing more e.g. Mexican food and middle eastern food here.
There are tons of American fast food places though: McDonalds, Burger King, Subway, Fridays etc.
I also notice on the toys and entertainment a lot. Scandinavian toys and entertainment for children use to be very non-conflict oriented unlike American entertainment which tends to be a lot about war, shooting, super heroes, fighting etc. Today the toy world is much more Americanized with more toys oriented around conflict play: Toy guns, good guys and bad guys. The original Danish Lego kits e.g. was all about letting kids create their own stories and explore together.
We had Swedish toys like Brio toy trains, wooden labyrints etc. Now it is a lot of Nerf guns. And even Lego has given up by making stuff like Star Wars. I do like Star Wars, and maybe it isn't so bad. But it is still a strong departure from the old Lego space stuff which did not involve any kinds of weapons.
