Not sure what you are saying. While I am a science and space geek at heart, which is why I was an early advocate of Elon Musk, I do not place those desires about human decency and democracy.

I am also a socialist, but democracy and freedom always comes first. I am with George Orwell who as a socialist was one of the starkest critics of Stalin. Our own leader in Norway, Einar Gerhardsen, another staunch socialist, who had been an early supporter of Lenin, turned his back when he saw that Lenin was not committed to freedom and democracy.

For me it is the same with Mars. We cannot sacrifice, freedom, democracy and human dignity for such a goal no matter how much we want it. Elon Musk has made a Faustian bargain. A deal with the Devil. His obsession has clouded his mind and he has forgotten his own humanity.
