Not thrilled about Elon Musk in government but I don't think the problem with Elon Musk is that exotic. Problem is that he has a rather authoritarian style. He does not respect unions, or employees with criticism.

Conflict between Elon Musk and government employees will get ugly.

Secondly is that Elon Musk while highly intelligent is extremely naive about the far right and will open the gate for far many of these guys. That will breed problems down the road.

I don't really think Elon Musk is an idea thief. He hires great people and let them experiment and try out new things.
