Of course everybody is in a different situation. But if the choice is open it is well worth exploring alternatives. I go to C++ conferences at times and I notice that the average C++ developer does not seem to realize how insane much code they have to write for stuff that is utterly trivial on other languages. Sometimes I see people writing a whole page of code to solve a problem. Everybody is applauding the guy for his “brilliant” solution but I just want to facepalm seeing what he just did could be done in 2–3 lines in a modern language. It is just sad to see so many people waste so much time on this language.
