Of course it is all tradeoffs. Americans can typically enjoy a lot more space, and driving is a lot easier there. I used to have an American drivers license. But I actually gave up getting a Norwegian one.

Ok, that was partly because I was not all that motivated at the time, but also because it is simply a lot harder to get than a US drivers license. Much more comperhensive.
