Oh thanks Dave. You may have noticed I haven't written much in a while but I have engaged a lot online on this particular type of debate for a long while, and made many reflections which I ought to get down in writing.
Men and women seem to accept superficially that we think different from another, but tend to be quite selective in that belief.
Or perhaps we accept it but often characterize the thinking of the other gender as somehow wrong.
I remember growing up in the 1980s Norway have there was little acceptance for the fact that boys enjoy toys guns, playing conflict, play fighting etc. Why couldn't boys just be socialized to behave like girls?
I absolutely do think we can moderate and mould various gender based behaviors but I also think that ability has limits. It is as unreasonable to ask women to stop caring about dressing up as it is to ask boys to stop caring about war movies.
