One thing that I dislike about the focus on journalists, is that journalistic freedom is at an all time low. A lot of what journalists write and say is a product of the agenda of the corporate owners.

Corporatism and capitalist activists is at the heart of the problem. For instance conservative think tanks have grown tremendously over the last years. These are well-funded entities designed to propagate a very specific point of view.

Often they don’t give the impression of being opinions but try to pretend that they represent objective science. You see all sorts of reports designed to propagate a particular political view. You see places like the heritage foundation which give out reports with a heavy bias. However the way these are written, the impression is given that they are objective.

For instance when I write, I tend to write in a very personalized style. That should help make it clear that what I write is colored by the opinions of a person. That is very different from some thing that looks like a non-personal report.
