"Our "bread basket" area is larger than Ukraine"

Who are you talking about exactly? The world outside of Ukraine is every possible country. The world outside Ukraine isn't the US alone, which I assume you refer to.

The world does not orbit the US. For us living in rich countries, we will be fine, but the same cannot be said of Indians, Africans and many others. We should have compassion for these people as well.

"Ukraine should not be pressured to cede land because Americans have become too lazy to feed themselves. "

Americans are hardly my worry here. It is the middle East, Africa, India and many other places. And a lot of rich places cannot really feed itself. The US is an anomaly in terms of abundance of resources. In my native Norway only 2.5% of the land is suited for agriculture. Most of the soil is poor. We are growing in sub-arctic conditions. But we are hardly alone in not having the conditions to feed ourselves.

"If Ukraine wants to fight to the last Ukrainian and scorch the earth behind them, that is their choice. We weren’t willing to check the bully, doing the same shit Hitler started with; we don’t get to criticize those who did. "

Of course it is their choice. But my opinion is no different from those who say Ukraine must fight Russia or Putin goes all Hitler. No, they don't have to do anything in particular for us.

But we can offer our opinions. I think it is fair to remind people that ceding land is an option. There is a long history of successfully doing that to end wars.

No option or choice should be off the table. And I am sure there are many Ukranian families who have lost loved ones who want the war to be over.
