Remember I am not arguing that Fusion power cannot happen. Sure maybe we get Fusion power in 2030. But to think society will be transformed shortly after would be naive. That has never happened with any technology.

The first working Nuclear plant got built in 1942. However a whole 18 years later there was only 17 nuclear plants in the world. These only produce a minsiscule amount of the total power production in the world.
