Since I live in Europe, I think a conflict in Europe deserves more attention in European media than a conflict not happening in Europe.
And since America is a civilization offshoot by European civilization and created by Europeans it is natural that Americans are also focused on this conflict.
How Japanese, Chinese, Indian and African news and media cover this conflict I couldn't tell. But it would be natural that they care less than we do. Just like I would care less about a conflict in China than one in Europe/the West.
But there is a second dimension to this: This conflict involves some of the most powerful countries in the world. The Ukraine conflict has potential to spill into a nuclear conflict ending the whole world. As bad as Yemen and numerous other conflicts are they don't have the potential to do so.
Anyway I think the premise is sort of wrong. Middle East conflicts such as the one between Israel and Palestinians have been covered extensively for decades. Last time I checked Israel was not in Europe.
