Thank you for the inspiring words. I have struggled for a long time to get back to writing on Medium. But I think all the positive feedback is encouraging me more. The negativity on X really dragged me down. Here I am being reminded of the mental benefits of writing for and engaging with a more positive and open minded audience.

"I am all for a revolution against economic liberalism but I don't share any other ideas with fascism."

Interesting thought provocation there. As you may know from my writing I consider myself a moderate socialist. So economic liberalism is certainly something I like to see go down the drain. But I can agree with many other liberal thoughts. I was for many years a social liberal and I haven't abandoned all those ideas.

It is of course an embarrassing truth that Fascism and Socialism does have some ideological overlap. We are both ideologies that challenge the establishment and economic liberalism. A key difference however is that Fascism in its mindset is social darwinistic. A dog eat dog world where the strong shall triumph over the weak. While us democratic socialists think society should be built to protect the weak. That that is one of the great things of society. That we can build something for all. That it is not just the law of the jungle.

"The weak" isn't a fixed group. All through life we drop in and out of that group, when we are children, when we are sick, unemployed or old.

EU is an interesting point. I should write more about that because I have very conflicting views. I loved how easy it was for myself to say travel and study for 3 years in the Netherlands. On the other hand I don't like one EU regulation after the other pushed down our throat. Key economic and social policies changed to placate the EU. There must be some happy medium.
