Thanks a lot. It helps me get a perspective. I have been a developer for over two decades and try to get into web development now. I find it very difficult. As an experienced developer you are used to being able to leverage existing knowledge and get going quickly. But for the web it feels overwhelming. There is no easy way to just get going. It is like pulling in a thread and new frameworks, browser plugins, JavaScript variants etc just keep popping up. I’m getting dizzy and frustrated by the whole experience.

Just deciding what technology to pick is daunting. There are so many choices. All of them with their own flaws.
