Thanks for some perspective. As a Norwegian I kept struggling through this whole debacle to understand why Americans were so worked up about a balloon. Good to see that people within the US also struggle to understand.

I am with you that the shooting down of a balloon with an F-22 was just utterly comical. I think the US ended up looking pretty silly to us in the world outside. And we are your allies.

I really cannot comprehend how a balloon can be that big of a deal. Cannot be hard for China to spy with satellites. Are there really that many things seen from the sky which must be kept secret?

I assume one builds things knowing they can be viewed from above today.
