Thanks Frances. I could probably write a whole article just about how Norwegian health care differs from US health care. Kind of an interesting topic onto itself. There is of course what you can lookup online in terms of the technical differences, but it might be interesting how it "feels" very different.

There are pros and cons of both systems. I like that Americans are very proactive and eager to show that they care and willing to help you. The dark side of this is that you are not always sure how much is that is genuine consideration for your health and needs vs a away to "please the customer."

Norwegian health care is probably a little bit more blunt and honest. That also has pros and cons. Generally it feels like consideration for your health needs override desire to be a sort of friendly business that attracts customers. Not all doctors are as friendly as you would like, but I also like that here they can be honest about not knowing something or having made a mistake. They may even apologize. My impression from the US is that admitting mistakes is something people have a very hard time doing. Much more about doubling down. But I suspect that is due to the legalistic nature of the US. Admitting mistakes can get very costly in the US.
