Thanks, I don't know exactly what it is like on the ground in the US today. I lived there almost 20 years ago, but the country seems so divided. It seems one side believes the cops are entitled to mistreat suspects any way they like while the other things you can mistreat racists any way you like.

I think we should teach people that violence is wrong, unless you are being physically attacked yourself. And even then there should be restraint. Pounding a suspect to pulp because he resisted is not acceptable.

In general I think one should tolerate to a larger extent that people are not always at their best behavior. Somebody misbehaving is not a license to do whatever you want to them.

Although here the police should go forth as good role models. They have the training and skills which should allow them to handle adversity without snapping than a regular civilian. Unfortunately "a bad day" is accepted as an excuse to often.

I am not saying always turn the other cheek, but at least try to de-escalate situations rather than escalate them to something worse.
