Thanks, I haven't worked with Scala at all. This was just what I thought from reading about it in the past. But I took it from memory. I will fix the article then.
Swift was not directly inspired by Scala though although I must assume Kotlin was. Swift was inspired by Objective-C, Rust, Haskell, Ruby, Python, C# and CLU.
I don't think Kotlin and Swift look similar because they borrowed from Scala, but rather because they both tried to be more functional and the syntax you see in both languages circulate in a lot of functional languages. Just look at the ML languages like OCaml and SML.
