Thanks! I would have spent time on Rust if I knew the systems that Rust excel at building would be a big part of my career. But Rust is such as effort that I cannot excuse spending time on it unless I know there is a clear payoff.
Go was different as you only waste a couple of days to learn it. If you never end up using it much, it doesn't really matter.
But I do indeed hope that Rust can replace a lot of C/C++ usage, especially in the security domain. Seriously why is stuff like OpenSSL written in C? That seems like begging for trouble. That is an area where I think Rust would be a natural fit.
